Discover Wild Aldhurst - Leiston's New Nature Reserve - A Haven for Wildlife - Just a Short Walk from the Town Centre
If you would like to have a go at growing your own but don’t have a garden or think you couldn’t manage a whole allotment why not take on a small plot at the community allotment? We have small raised beds which are perfect for salad crops or a couple of squash plants or even some sweet peas or larger areas for anything needing a bit more space such as potatoes or runner beans.
Leiston
The purpose of the community allotment is to provide a place for people to learn about growing fruit, flowers and vegetables and to enjoy the benefits of being outdoors. We welcome those just starting out as well as experienced growers. If you would like help or company while you grow, a group meet between 10am and 12 midday on Wednesdays (weather permitting). It’s free to get involved and we have tools and some seeds to get you going.
Even if you don’t want to grow anything for yourself but you would like some fresh air or the chance to volunteer and meet new people, we have various jobs to do such as watering or helping with various projects such as creating habitats for wildlife.
